Terms of use
1 · Scope and parties
These terms govern your use of the study platform of Sample Institute and everything that happens on it: applying for admission, studying, examinations, fees and documents. The parties are the institution as operator and you as a student or applicant.
You accept the terms by ticking the box on the registration form. The moment of acceptance and the edition in force at that moment are stored with your application — a later edition is never attributed to you.
2 · Your account
- The account is created with your application; credentials reach you by email after the administration approves, never before.
- Registration is open to those aged eighteen or over, and your details must be accurate and match your official papers.
- The account is personal: your password is yours to keep, and sharing the account is a breach that may lead to suspension.
- You correct your own details from your profile; anything touching the official record — a date of birth, for instance — is corrected by the administration at your request.
3 · Enrollment
Enrollment takes three forms: a whole level with all its courses, selected courses of a given level, or a standalone course. In the two programme-bound forms, an application is an application: the administration examines it and accepts or rejects it, and a rejection reaches you with reasons written for you, not with a stock phrase.
Promotion to the next level, graduation, and upgrading from selected courses to a whole level are explicit administrative decisions. None of them follows automatically from passing, or from the passage of time.
4 · Fees and payment
- Fees are stated in euros before you apply, and each registration event is gathered into a single claim carrying a structured payment reference.
- Payment methods: bank transfer, cash at the administration, and online payment where the gateway is enabled. After every payment you receive a PDF receipt.
- A discount is always an individual administrative decision with a written reason — there are no discount codes and no automatic reductions.
- Instalments and payment deferral are requested through your correspondence with the administration; approval is recorded on the claim itself. Late payment never cuts off study automatically.
- Access to the content of a whole level begins with the administration's approval, before payment. Selected courses and standalone courses open on full settlement of their item, or by explicit manual activation.
- Printing documents yourself waits until the document's scope is financially settled; the administration may issue any academically valid document regardless.
5 · Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason, counted from the conclusion of the contract. An unambiguous statement suffices — by email to office@example.org or by post to Sample Street 1, 12345 Sample City, Country. To meet the deadline it is enough that you send your statement before it expires.
If you expressly asked for teaching to begin before the period expired, then on withdrawal you owe a proportionate amount for what was actually provided up to the moment you informed us, measured against the full agreed scope. Anything paid beyond that is refunded within fourteen days by the same means you paid with, at no charge.
6 · Access to content
Teaching material belongs to the institution. Your access is a right tied to a live enrollment during the period of study — never a permanent acquisition of a copy. It ends when the enrollment ends: on conclusion, on the archiving of the level, or for the duration of a suspension.
What you see is exactly what you enrolled in: a whole level opens all of its courses, a selection opens the courses you chose and no others. The administration may grant exceptional read access in cases it judges itself, with a written reason and a defined duration.
7 · Rules of use
- No recording of live lectures on your part, no screen capture, no republishing of any material outside the platform.
- No sharing of session links or course files with people who are not enrolled.
- Respect in sessions and in correspondence is a condition; what is written in platform correspondence remains archived with the administration.
- Files you upload to assignments and applications must be your own work, or material you are permitted to share.
8 · Live sessions and recordings
Teaching is live at its core: the lecture itself is the instruction, and the recording afterwards is revision material. Live lectures are held over Zoom, with a personal join link for each student. Teaching lectures are recorded after you have been informed, then published to the institution's YouTube channel as unlisted and linked to their lesson inside the platform. Examination sessions are never recorded. What «unlisted» precisely means — and who can open a video if the link reaches them — is explained in the privacy policy.
Your voice or image may appear in a recording if you take part with camera or speech. You are free to keep your camera off, and you may ask the administration to edit a particular passage. Details are in the privacy policy.
9 · Attendance, examinations, grades, documents
- Attendance is computed from your actual minutes of participation, and the administration may correct any record with a logged entry.
- You register for an examination yourself, within the cycle's registration window — there is no automatic registration in any circumstance.
- Grades are not visible to you before publication. A published grade may be corrected; the previous value is preserved in the history and you are notified.
- Entitlement to a document is academic first: a whole-level certificate is not issued to someone who took selected courses, and a graduation certificate requires a recorded graduation decision. Issued documents are immutable copies bearing serial numbers.
10 · Suspension and ending an enrollment
The administration may suspend an enrollment by reasoned decision — on a serious breach of the rules of use, for instance — and lift it the same way. You, in turn, may ask to end your enrollment through correspondence with the administration. In either case your academic record and the documents already issued to you remain intact.
11 · Availability and maintenance
We aim to keep the platform available at all times and cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation: maintenance or a fault at an external provider may take it offline for a while. We announce planned maintenance in advance wherever possible. An occasional interruption is not a breach of our teaching obligation — the missed session is made up or rescheduled.
12 · Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For simple negligence we are liable only for breach of the material obligations on which the contract rests, and limited to the damage typically foreseeable in such a case. Beyond that, liability is excluded. We are not responsible for the content of external sites we link to; that rests with their operators.
13 · Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the service or the law changes. You are notified inside the platform of any material change before it takes effect, and the edition in force appears with its date at the foot of this page. The acceptance recorded in your name remains an acceptance of the edition you read, not of what came after it.
14 · Governing law
German law applies. This does not affect the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you habitually reside. If you are a merchant or a legal entity under public law, the seat of the institution is the place of jurisdiction. Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remainder is unaffected.
